I GEDE SURYAWAN

Gede  was not born into an artist’s family. He discovered art at a young age and it became his obsession. Later, his parents pushed him to be an engineer, but he went against their wishes to major in art at the Indonesia Institute of Fine Art. His passion directed him to creating his own unique style that has been praised by critics and galleries across Indonesia Singapore Malaysia and Dubai. Many call Gede a Modern Picasso with his completely unique use of structure, abstract and cubism.

Working with elements of Balinese mythology and symbolism, I Gede Suryawan Eka Putra combines a new philosophy of art and emotion. Here moon, leaves, animals, and religious processions are all used to speak of the beauty of love as expressed through family life. With soft yet strong images we are brought into a kind of idealized world in which the most noble qualities of humans are brought to force.
