Flowers for My Daughter
Kebaya is a traditional attire of Indonesian people. It has different styles in different provinces, which also has a different kind of philosophy. Back in the days, kebaya was worn by women for everyday attire. But these days in Bali, kebaya is only worn occasionally such as weddings, religious ceremonies, and funerals. Kebaya itself is a symbol of flower’s petals that will help a girl look prettier.
And in this piece of painting, one can only assume of how pretty a daughter would be with a piece of kebaya clothing in her body. A flower with blooming petals; a pretty girl with her embraced culture.
